Activities and Events
In “Capo Testa” you can practice all aquatic sports, diving, freediving, snorkeling, sports fishing, surfing, windsurfing and boating excursions. As an alternative to the sea it’s possibile to go hiking and free-climbing, which can be practiced in “Cala Grande” (also known as “Valle della Luna”) and in the area of the lighthouse, which has always accompanied navigators during their crossing of the stormy Straits of Bonifacio.
For nature and excursion lovers, “Capo Testa” offers numerous possibilities, among which, horse rides, nature trails and boat excursions around the splendid Maddalena Archipelago and nearby Corsica. Fewer than two kilometers away can be found the archeological site “Lu Brandali” where, thanks to their highly-qualified and competent personnel, it is possible to visit the “tomb of the giants” and the Nuraghic village that has recently been uncovered.
Just a short distance from Santa Teresa di Gallura it is moreover possible to visit the Archeological Park in the city of Arzachena, where evidence of civilization dating back to the Neolithic up to Bronze Age. Among the most in important of the sites in Sardinia are: “La Prisgiona”, “The Tomb of the Giants ‘Coddhu Vecchiu'” and the “Li Muri” necropolis.
Not only are there archaeological sites, but the city also puts on a series of events that have by now become a major attraction. An example of this is the “Festival Internazionale di Jazz ‘Musica sulle Bocche'” (“Music on the Strait”), which has been held in Santa Teresa Gallura for several years. Created by the musician Enza Favata, it is now one of the most anticipated summer cultural events held in Sardinia.
